Political-military analyst Miroslav Lazanski said that newly formed army of self-proclaimed Kosovo is not benign problem for the north of Kosovo, but Serbia cannot prevent its development to its full capacity

Lazanski said that Kosovo army of 5,000 soldiers and 3,000 reservists is not a serious competitor of the Serbian Army, but it is twice bigger then Pristina currently required, and that its formation is beyond the scope envisaged by the Brussels agreement.

He believes that no one can guarantee that the clause in the agreement that ‘the military, if formed, must not enter northern Kosovo without the permission of KFOR,’ and warns that “everybody will interpret agreement as he wants.” “There is a room for misinterpretation, who will determine when KFOR will give permission to enter the north. KFOR command interprets it as it want, Pristina interpret as they want,” said Lazanski.

He believes that Serbia, due to the enormous desire to join the EU, put itself in a passive position and in a position to accept what is ordered to her.  “We can only watch and be silent observer of happenings. That is the result of one, and only one ambition in life – to enter the EU. Then you are in the situation to do what they request, when it comes to Kosovo,” said Lazanski.

According to him, the EU and NATO may violate international laws and legal documents in the case of Serbia whenever they want. However, the story has a different end in the case of Russia. “When it comes to Russia it is not possible. Unfortunately we are not Russia,” says Lazanski.
