Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, said on Sunday that Serbia’s general elections of 16 March will also take place in Kosovo in accordance to the Brussels Agreement.

However, Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo, Edita Tahiri, Kosovapress reports, has reacted to the statement telling Vucic to read carefully the Agreement of 19 April reached during the Brussels dialogue between prime ministers Thaci and Dacic.

Tahiri told Kosovapress there are essential differences from elections of 2012.

“While in 2012 there were much more point which in a way were polling stations, their number now is drastically smaller and there will be a limited number of collecting centres arranged by OSCE.”

“The media will have the opportunity to visit these polling stations on election day and see there are ballot collecting centres. There are not election commissions, like in 2012, no structures, no counting of votes in Kosovo. Instead, they will be collected and taken to Serbia.”

“There cannot and there will be no elections of Serbia in Kosovo, organised by Serbia, because a country cannot organise elections in another, especially since the Brussels Agreement has put an end to any interference of Serbia into Kosovo’s internal affairs.”
