Çitaku: More work on integration of the repatriated (RTK live)

Minister for European Integration, Vlora Çitaku, stated on Wednesday that more work has to be done on integrating the repatriated individuals from the communities that live in Kosovo. She made these comments during the meeting with head of UNHCR for Europe, Vincent Cochetel.

During this meeting, they discussed issues of mutual interest, such as irregular migration and integration of the repatriated persons, possibilities and forms to advance successful integration of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian community in the education system of Kosovo.

Minister Çitaku expressed appreciation to UNHCR, for being a serious partner and for the so far offered help in the process of repatriation and creation of better conditions for them.

She reiterated determination of the Government of Kosovo on creating good conditions for all the communities living in Kosovo including the repatriated individuals. She stated that the Government is working with increased intensity in order for the integration and repatriation of individuals and communities to be as efficient as possible and to bring results for the entire society.

As part of this engagement, they have organized many meetings and open discussions between the representatives of the Government, donors, and NGOs which are active in the field of the support for integration of the repatriated individuals and communities. She stressed that additional support is required in order to assess the current situation and to initiate adequate steps based on evidenced findings.

Cochetel stated that UNHCR will continue to be engaged and devoted to contribute on the support of integrated processes for the individuals with special needs in Kosovo and wider.
