The head of the Kosovo Property Agency office in Mitrovica, Milena Djeric, was threatened by the new mayor of Mitrovica North, Goran Rakic, regarding the plan to free apartments and properties usurped in the north.

Djeric planned to undertake an action to free 300 apartments in Mitrovica North belonging to Albanians, which are still usurped by Serbs. Sources told Kosovapress that Djeric sent an official request asking for support from the police station in the north.

In a joint meeting, mayor Rakic is reported to have yelled at Djeric, asking her if she was aware what consequences she could face for her actions. “Such a thing cannot dare happen,” Rakic is quoted telling Djeric.

Following the meeting, Djeric was forced to give up executing the plan. Officials from Kosovo police were unable to be reached for comment.
