Undefined borderline (Zeri)

Fifteen years since the end of the Kosovo conflict, the borderline between Kosovo and Serbia continues to be undefined. Serbian Gendarmerie frequently crosses over to what is believed to be Kosovo territory and the Albanian residents of the nearby village of Karaceva, Kamenica municipality, claim that they are endangered by the patrolling of Serbian troops. “Our security is artificial. There can be no talk of security when Serbian Gendarmerie unobstructed enters Karaceva whenever it pleases,” said the village representative, Selver Lenjani.

Kosovo institutional officials, meanwhile, continue to assure Karaceva residents that the territory of Kosovo is inviolable. Deputy mayor of Kamenica, Fatmir Matoshi, said they firmly believe that the disputed area is part of Kosovo and that the issue will be settled during the border demarcation process.
