Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Petrit Selimi stated that the recently elected President of Slovakia, Andrej Kiska, has a positive attitude towards the recognition of Kosovo. “We expect that Slovakia will recognize Kosovo very soon, even within a few weeks. On the other hand, the official initiation of issuing Schengen visas for Kosovo citizens demonstrates a new momentum by Greece in relation to the youngest state in Europe. This gesture is a signal that recognition from the Hellenic state might come very soon. Last week, for the first time, we sent a few civil society members to Cyprus, breaking a barrier in the relations between the two countries. The Romanian Prime Minister does not object to the recognition of Kosovo state, either, and we expect that this country will recognize the international subjectivity of our Republic very soon. Except for Spain, due to the problem with Catalonia, the other EU countries will very soon recognize Kosovo,” said Selimi.
