Petar Miletić said that request for the motion on taking the draft bill of amendments to the Law on General Elections off the agenda was not adopted, thus it is most certain that minority representatives won’t take part in the work of the Kosovo parliament on its next session.

Deputy President of the Kosovo Parliament Petar Miletić (SLS) said to KIM radio that, even though the final decision was not yet taken, it appears most certain that minority representatives will boycott the Kosovo Parliament due to amendments to the election law.

“Considering that draft bill of amendments is due to be on the next parliament session’s agenda, we should bring a joint decision in coming days over our next steps. I believe that decision over our future participation should be a joint one, however we are closer to decision not to take part in it since nothing has changed with regards to our requests,” said Miletić.

Serb MPs have left out the parliament sessions in two occasions last week after the draft bill of amendments to the Law on General Elections was not taken off the Parliament’s agenda.

Serbs and other minority representatives in Kosovo are opposed to the draft bill of amendment to the Law on General Elections, which envisages abolishment of the right to vote to banished and displaced persons, and request that the issue of reserved seats is resolved before the amendment of the law.
