Political analyst Dusan Janjic estimates that in Brussels was reached a positive agreement between Belgrade and Pristina when it comes to the judiciary, where each side had to slacken a bit.  “I believe it’s good, because one issue that has been open for three years was deblocked and placed in the phase of validation and implementation,” said Janjic.

Courts in the north of Kosovo and Metohija will work according to the laws of Kosovo, and the Court of appeals will be located in Pristina. Janjic points out that people, who appeal to a judgment, will not appeal in Belgrade, but to the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg. He also added that the judges will be paid by the Kosovo budget.

Serbian judges will have the same status as all other judges. The only exception is that according to the Brussels Agreement and the Constitution of Kosovo they will work in areas inhabited by Serbs and they will work in their own language, but they can be reassigned to another location Janjic said.

It is good that the Serbian deputies blocked the work of the Assembly, Janjic said. “They could cause toppling of the government, what is very unpleasant for the government which intends to dissolve. My opinion is that a compromise will be found. I think the maximum will be 15 Serbian deputies,” Janjic said.

Serbia’s position when it comes to the Failure to establish sanctions to Russia will become the official position of the new government, Janjic said.
