Kosovo police has launched action aimed at confiscating vehicles with the falsified documentation. Police confirmed that around ten vehicles have been confiscated so far in Gračanica/Graçanicë.

Deputy Kosovo Police Director Saša Rašić explained that it is about vehicles which were registered with PR number plates until the date when Kosovo government’s regulation on re-registration came into force in 2011, and which were illegally re-registered with KS or RKS number plates.

Rašić said that confiscation refers only to vehicles with falsified documents. “Only vehicles for which a proof exists that they didn’t pay customs, neither to Belgrade nor to Pristina, will be confiscated, not the ones for which the excise tax was not paid to Kosovo,” claims Rašić.

In 2011 Kosovo government brought the decision on re-registration of vehicles with Serbian number plates PR, KM, GL, PE, PZ and UR, which were abolished in Kosovo. Thus, since June 2011 only vehicles with KS and RKS number plates can be in circulation in Kosovo.
