Zubin Potok Mayor Stevan Vulović said that there is no new information about the investigation of the recent attack on the Kosovo police patrol near the village of Banje, in which three Serb police officers were wounded; Olvier Kuzmanović hardly survived the attack.

“If I would judge based on KP and EULEX’s ‘efficiency’ so far, I doubt that perpetrators will ever be found. I doubt that they are looking for them at all and that they have the skills and good will for it in Pristina,” Vulović told Frankfurter-based Vesti, adding that his suspicions are based on the fact that KP and EULEX did not resolve a single incident in northern Kosovo so far, despite several serious murders, woundings and attacks with explosive devices.

“It is about a lack of skills, along with Pristina’s will to maintain the unstable situation in the North in order for them to engage with more special forces, and that more Serbs leave this area due to instability and lack of safety,” claims Vulović.

According to him, there are additional reasons behind efforts in destabilizing northern Kosovo and Zubin Potok Municipality. “Following the signing of the Brussels agreement, announcements were made about huge investments in northern Kosovo and beginning production in several companies in the North, such as Trepca. We are also acquainted with plans for investment here, however it doesn’t suit Pristina and it doesn’t suit Thaçi, who is not in favour of improving situation in the North where Serbs can live better, because Albanians across the Ibar River live badly. That’s why he is constantly provoking and, sometimes, using Albanian and Serb police officers; no one would invest where there is instability,” said Vulović.

He recalled that there were no instances violating public law and order in the last five months in Zubin Potok, while the destabilization of the situation was originally provoked by members of the border police and other security structures from Pristina.
