In Belgrade will be established Office for cooperation with the Court for war crimes of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) mentioned in the report of the EU Special Rapporteur Dick Marty, the daily Politika, published.
According to the newspaper, the office will function as the office for cooperation with the Hague Tribunal.
Politika reports it is unlikely that Serbia could participate in the work of the court, because, as well as Albania, is the party in court proceedings, which is why is expected that cooperation will go through the Office.
The seat of the future court, which establishment should support the Kosovo Assembly, is likely to be in The Hague or Brussels.
The newspaper added that sessions of the future tribunal to prosecute crimes of the KLA will be maintained in foreign countries and judges, prosecutors and other employees will be organized at the international level.
The mandate of the court should be based on a report of the EU Special Rapporteur Dick Marty on organ trafficking and inhumane treatment of the people. The European Union and the United States support the establishment of the court and stated that if the Kosovo Assembly does not agree to set up the court, it will be done by the United Nations.
After warnings from the international community, Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci said that “Kosovo’s parliament should support the establishment of the court, even though it is wrong.”
Thaci is mentioned as a suspect of organized crime in the report of Dick Marty, including the trafficking in organs.
