Last night, a tractor was stolen from returnees in the village of Duge near Klina/Klinë, according to returnees’ representative Vlado Rašković. The tractor was donated to returnees by the delegation of the European Commission in Kosovo. “It was the first tractor donated to our village after we returned in 2010. In the morning, I realised that tractor was missing. I informed police immediately,” said Rašković. Since it was the only tractor used by returnees, Rašković complained that returnees don’t know what to do now, since spring agricultural works have already started.

The stolen tractor is not the only problem faced by returnees. According to Beta news agency, neighbouring Albanian residents prevented returnees from entering their fields by placing logs and gravel on the road. Fifteen Serbian families returned to the village of Duge in 2010, while the Kosovo government, assisted by foreign donors, constructed 13 houses. Today, there are only eight families left in the village.
