Novak Lukic, a member of the Serbian legal team in The Hague, believes that the establishment of an international tribunal for war crimes in Kosovo will bring painful facts to light. During an interview, Lukic told FoNet that it would be ideal if the international court, which will be established for the prosecution of war crimes in Kosovo, would deal with crimes involving organised crime.
Noting that the international community is not satisfied with the justice system in Kosovo, Lukić said a judicial body was already formed when it realised that that “internal justice system does not work.” And The Hague tribunal was formed because “originally, no one in the former Yugoslavia wanted to face trial for war crimes,” said Lukic.
“It is certain that the EU will stand behind the court for war crimes in Kosovo,” said Lukic. “I hope this will be a good moment to transparently prove some facts that hurt us and the people who live in Kosovo.”
