Upon the request of the prosecution, an international judge of the Basic Court in Kosovska Mitrovica ordered the one month detention of a 32-year-old individual who is under suspicion of murdering officer Enver Zymberi in July 2011, stated EULEX. EULEX did not divulge the names of the suspect. Media is speculating that the arrested person is Radovan Radic from Zubin Potok, whose house was searched by EULEX last week. Radic is one of six people accused of murdering Zymberi, who was a member of the Kosovo Special Forces ROSU (which tried to forcibly take over administrative crossings in Jarinje and Brnjak, in Kosovo north at the end of 2011). EULEX stated that the suspect was arrested according to the Interpol warrant. “The arrest was conducted as part of an ongoing murder investigation, where there is reasonable suspicion that aggravated murder, attempted aggravated murder, illegal possession of weapons, and obstructing officials in performing their duties were committed,” reads the EULEX statement. According to a separate case, the detainee is suspected of facilitating the escape of the arrested.
