Municipalities of Leposavić/Leposaviç and Zvečan/Zveçan have scheduled sessions for 17 April, the day when the deadline expires for the harmonization of the statute with the Kosovo legislation. Mitrovica North and Zubin Potok have one more week until the deadline expires, writes Pristina-based daily Tribuna. Kosovo Government expects that northerners will harmonize their statutes. Representatives of the Ministry for Local Self-Government Administration earlier conferred with representatives of those municipalities aiming at overcoming the situation created with the adoption of statues which are not in line with Kosovo laws. Disputed statutes of northern municipalities are in line with the UNSC resolution 1244, whereas municipal symbols are featuring the state of Serbia. Kosovo Ministry of Local Self-Government Administration decided on 17 March to extend the deadline for the harmonization of statutes for another month.
