Ambassadors of the Quint countries insist on their request to establish the Tribunal for war crimes. After British Ambassador Ian Cliff, who requested the establishment of the Tribunal for war crimes as soon as possible, U.S. Ambassador Tracey Ann Jacobson insisted on the same issue. In an interview for RTV21, Jacobson said that she considers that this would have been the best step. The U.S. Ambassador denied the claims that the Court is against KLA. “As the Ambassador of the United States, coming from one of the friendly countries of Kosovo, I think that this is the best step. The idea that this is a court against the KLA is not true, it is simply not. There is major work needed to reach general elections. I have seen during the local elections that CEC is able to do miracles. It does not belong to me to say when the elections should be held. To me, the main priority is the decision on the EULEX mandate and the establishment of the special court, then the leaders could agree on holding elections and we will support them,” said Jacobson.
