On Wednesday morning, the US Ambassador to Kosovo Tracey Ann Jacobson gathered political party leaders and discussed the possibilities of voting for Special Court and for extension of EULEX’s mandate by the Kosovo Assembly. The meeting was confirmed to KTV by the US Embassy in Prishtinë/Pristina.

“The Ambassador hosted today’s meeting as part of the ongoing endeavours to support relevant legislative agenda in Kosovo,” the reply of the Embassy sent to KTV reads.

Sources stated that the leaders agreed that the Assembly Presidency convenes this Friday and schedule the date of the Assembly session when voting on EULEX’s mandate and establishment of Special Court for War Crimes will take place. However, they added that the session cannot happen before 23rd April.

Quint calls on Kosovo authorities to adopt Special Court

(TV21)

Quint countries called upon Kosovo authorities to make the Assembly adopt establishment of the Special Court which will deal with KLA alleged crimes mentioned in Dick Marty’s report.

In a letter that GazetaExpress got hold off, the United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany and Italy underline that by not voting in favour of the Special Court at the Assembly of Kosovo, MPs would send this issue to United Nations.

“This would be a longer and harmful process for the image of Kosovo,” Quint letter reads.

The letter also reads that elements of the letter regarding the EULEX mandate and Special Court establishment cannot be divided and are already non-negotiable.

Quint underlines that this process is focused on individuals and it is a not a judgement of collective efforts for liberation of the country.

SITF: Kosovo needs Special Court

(KTV)

The Special Investigative Task Force (SITF) which is dealing with Dick Marty’s claims believes that Kosovo needs Special Court. SITF representatives do not want to prejudice the investigation result, but they say that if there will be an indictment at the end of the investigations, then it is necessary that the trial be carried out by an independent mechanism.

SITF spokesperson Suoza reiterated that the purpose of the Taskforce was by no means to rewrite history or to morally judge a certain cause or movement. “Criminal responsibility is individual,” Suoza said.

The Assembly Legislation Committee proceeded in amending Law on General Elections, before it is submitted to the Assembly for second reading.

Serbs have threatened that they will not vote for the Law if their proposed amendments are not supported by the Committee, which is what happened on Wednesday.

Most of the amendments proposed by Serbs were not voted in favour by the Committee members.

Daka: CEC would be ready for elections on 8 June

Krasniqi: Special Police members affiliated to crime

(Most monitored broadcasters, KTV)

In the Kosovo Police Special Unit there are people who are closely connected to crime, who carry drugs and money, and who are the crime itself. This was stated by Florin Krasniqi, chairperson of the KIA (Kosovo Intelligence Agency) Oversight Committee. He said that the essence of the Law was that those criminals leave Kosovo institutions once forever.

Krasniqi made these allegations following the Committee meeting. Afterwards, the Committee members left to KIA to open 17 complaints sent by individuals who did not pass the verification from KIA.

Krasniqi called on all those who know that there are criminals in the Kosovo institutions to submit the evidence, so that the Committee can then present it to KIA with facts.

On the other hand, the Committee vice chairperson from PDK Fadil Demaku said that the Committee should work in line with the legislation.
