Elections should be held by any law

(TV21)

At the time when early elections are approaching, relevant institutions have precipitated their work in adopting Law on elections, but still without any success. Governing parties believe that elections may be held under any law that opposition parties and other entities would agree on.

“The PDK’s stance is as other political entities like it, we do not mind if elections will happen with the old or with the new law. We are ready to go to elections whenever there is political will and consensus by other entities, which are in a hurry,” Behar Selimi of PDK said.

Haki Demolli of LDK said that the new law also may be applied, since nothing substantial has changed.

On the other hand, Vetëvendosje Movement (VV) believes that political parties are playing games. VV considers that holding elections with the old law is unacceptable.

AAK officials think that the new law will cause a full chaos, unless bylaws are drafted as required from the Central Elections Commission (CEC).

(All monitored broadcasters, KTV)

Prime Minister Hashim Thaçi reiterated that the Kosovo Assembly should first vote for the Tribunal, new Law on Elections, and Law on Kosovo Armed Forces. Subsequently, according to him, a decision will be made together with the political spectrum whether the current legislature will be dissolved.

Thaçi made these statements following a visit paid to Dea water factory.

National Serb Council demands defence in freedom for all Serb arrests

(TV21)

The so-called National Serb Council in north Kosovo has initiated a petition, demanding from EULEX and UNMIK that all arrested Serbs be allowed defence in freedom.

A press release issued by the Council reads that groundless arrests of north Serbs Oliver Ivanovic, Dragoljub Delibasic, Nebojsa Vujacic, and their lawyers destabilise the already aggravated situation in north.

Rakic: Kosovo Serbs want no Kosovo army

(Klan Kosova)

North Mitrovica/Mitrovicë mayor Goran Rakic stated that Kosovo Serbs did not want any army of Kosovo. Rakic stated to Vecernje Novosti that the international community is making its best efforts to prolong establishment of the army, but according to him, Kosovo Albanian authorities will not easily give up this idea.

Rakic announced that they (Kosovo Serbs) would in any way oppose transformation of KSF into an army, and added that he would soon announce further steps.
