Tomorrow will be one year since the Brussels agreement was signed by Belgrade and Pristina.

Agreement was signed by the prime ministers of Serbia and Kosovo Ivica Dačić and Hashim Thaçi in Brussels on 19 April, following the conclusion of the tenth round of negotiations between Belgrade and Pristina, under the auspices of the EU High Representative Catherine Ashton.

European Commissioner for Enlargement Stefan Fule assessed that agreement will help   Belgrade and Pristina on their ways to the EU, and that ‘signing of the agreement is a historical day for relations between Serbia and Kosovo, entire West Balkans and the EU’.

Similar assessments were given by the President of the European Council Herman van Rompuy  and President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso.

Two days later Serbs from northern Kosovo staged a protest in northern Kosovska Mitrovica and said that they will not allow implementation of the agreement, whereas the Democratic Party of Serbia staged a protest walk in Belgrade requesting annulment of the Brussels agreement.
