The Bureau for Diplomatic Security of US State Department has released a massage yesterday through which it calls on American citizens in Kosovo to be vigilant during Easter holidays. The massage is based on information from US Embassy in Pristina and which have to do with threats against religious Christian institutions in Kosovo.

It is first time that an US intergovernmental organization makes a call of this nature to American citizens in Kosovo in the eve of one of largest Christian holidays, as Easter, while the call suggests very clear for all of those who are following “evolution and involvement’ of few segments of Kosovar society.

In the message in February of this intergovernmental organization to the Consultative Council for Security Abroad also advised American citizens to be vigilant and warned for “Growing of Islamic extremism in Kosovo, in particular outside Pristina.”

“The upcoming Easter holidays are of particular religious significance for Catholic and Orthodox Christian communities, and it is expected that their places of religious worship will likely be significantly more crowded than normal. Given occasional threats against religious institutions in Kosovo, particularly the more prominent churches located in urban centers, the U.S. Embassy would like to remind all U.S. citizens in Kosovo to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the Kosovo Police,” says in this “travel guidance” for US citizens who are traveling or plan to travel these days to Kosovo.
