A representative of Jedinstvena Unija Goranaca (Unified Union of Gorani) JUG Adem Hoxha said today that the CEC of Kosovo rejected the application for registration because of the party’s abbreviation.
The Central Election Commission of Kosovo refused the request of Gorani for registration of the party.
“I was very surprised, because doing so the Gorani right are being denied to form their own political party and participate in elections organized in Kosovo,” said Hoxha to BETA.
According to him, the representative of the CEC, Nenad Rikalo informed him that their request is rejected, although he was told earlier in the CEC that the registration will be fine.
“Gorani want to help the Kosovar society in its democratization in order to be recognized as the part of the multi-ethnic European civilization and therefore they expect JUG to be registered as a party of Gorani,” said Hoxha.
