Vice President of the Kosovo Assembly, Petar Miletic said that for now Serbian MPs are against voting for constitutional amendments on the establishment of the Kosovo Armed Forces. He recalled that Serbian MPs were not consulted about it.

Miletic said that they are surprised, because the Albanian parties, so far, claimed that they will not change the Constitution of Kosovo, due to which allegedly the Serbs cannot get reserved seats in parliament. However, now, all of a sudden, when it comes to the armed forces, the Constitution can be changed. “NATO and official Belgrade should also give opinion about this sensitive issue,” said Miletic who will today speak with Kosovo President, Atifete Jahjaga.

The next session of the Assembly of Kosovo has been scheduled for Monday, May 5. The agenda will include the issue of transformation of the Kosovo Security Forces in the Kosovo Armed forces.
