Serbian movie director Emir Kusturica stated today that Pristina’s announcements that he will be declared ‘persona non grata’ due to his plans to make a movie on human organ trafficking in Kosovo and Metohija, presents a blow to Kosovo’s democracy.

Kusturica stressed that he is not the one who invented the story on organs, but that it is Dick Marty who submitted his report to the Council of Europe.

“I neither invented it, nor I understand the nervousness of the chairperson of the Kosovo associations of move artists (Lirik Gjelaj). However, I think that Gjelaj is a sound person and that he will avoid giving such statement in future, which is a big blow to Kosovo’s democracy,” said Kusturica to daily Danas. He explained that he is planning to realize his idea in next three years and that movie will be recorded in Russia.

Kusturica earlier announced that in the main role of his move will be a German citizen, who lives with the transplanted heart of a Serb who was victim of the crime committed in the ‘yellow house’.

He assessed that movie, when recorded, will open a painful, truthful topic on suffering of Serbian people, on which history, cinematography and literature is consciously silent, aiming at picturing Serbs as a genocidal nation and not as victims.
