First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia Ivica Dacic denied today that Kosovo became a full-fledged member of the South-East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) and highlighted that an agreement was made that Kosovo can participate in the work of that initiative aimed at strengthening the regional stability.

“It is not accepted that Kosovo becomes a member of the SEECP, membership of Kosovo was avoided here,” said Dacic at the regular monthly press conference at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.

He stressed that Serbia will prevent membership of Kosovo in all organizations where that would be possible if it is not in line with the Brussels agreement.

“We have no reasons to hinder participation of Kosovo under conditions defined in Brussels,” said Dacic and added that whenever Kosovo is marked with an asterisk is something that fells under Brussels agreement, which in the end was accepted and by Serbia itself.

He reminded that Serbia has been under pressure in last couple years to allow membership of Kosovo in regional organizations and initiatives.
