If a referendum on the EU accession would take place tomorrow, 79% of respondents in Kosovo would vote ‘yes’ (four per cent more than in 2013), 5% would be against, whereas 11% would remain ‘neutral’.

Taking into consideration ethnic differences, Kosovo Albanians in majority (82%) are for the EU membership, whereas Serbs are either amongst the ‘neutral’ respondents or amongst those ‘against’ such membership (65%), shows research of the awareness on EU and European Integrations carried out in Kosovo, which was presented two days ago by the EU Office in Pristina.

Majority of respondents (74%) opine that integration of Kosovo in the EU would be an advantage whereas fight against corruption, economy and unemployment are highlighted as the most important issues on that path. Integration of the north and visa-free travel regime with the EU are deemed to be less important issues.

In comparison with the previous research, slightly higher percent of respondents claim that integration of Kosovo in the EU would assist Kosovo in managing and settling issues such as democracy (72%), social welfare (67%) and education system (675), shows the research.

So called ‘face to face’ research was carried out amongst 1.500 respondents in 37 municipalities in Kosovo.
