Jahjaga: Assembly constitutive meeting on July 17

President of Kosovo Atifete Jahjaga decided to call the first constitutive meeting of the Assembly of Kosovo on July 17, 2014.

“Based on Article 84, section 3, of the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo, as well as on the decision of the Central Elections Commission on the certification of the final result of the early general elections in the country, I decided to call the first constitutive meeting of the Assembly of Kosovo on July 17, 2014,” President’s decision reads.

“All my activities will be based on the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo and the laws in force. After the constitution of the Assembly, I will submit to the Assembly the proposal for the new Prime Minister designate,” the decision adds.

PDK offers PM’s post and six ministries to Vetëvendosje

On his own and without a co-governing partner, Hashim Thaçi is also ready to step over his own decisions; just to keep his party remain in power. Apart of suspension of agreements with Serbia, Thaçi is also ready to give up the Prime Minister’s post and give it to his most radical opponent, Albin Kurti.

PDK officials also visited Vetëvendosje to ask them about co-governance. They offered Vetëvendosje the PM’s post, six ministries and many other compromises.

“The offer was one year and a half of government, suspension of dialogue and privatization, closing of Privatization Agency of Kosovo…, six ministries Vetëvendosje, nine ministries PDK, Prime Minister from Vetëvendosje,” said the Organizing Secretary of Vetëvendosje Dardan Molliqaj.

Molliqaj said that Vetëvendosje has not taken seriously this offer, which otherwise did not come in directly but through different channels, as it had refused the entire communication with PDK.

Meanwhile, LDK Secretary General Ismet Beqiri said that they have not met nor they plan to meet with PDK, no matter the offers that this party might make to them.

Petition for Kosovo women raped during the war to be signed

Signing of a Kosovo-wide petition will start soon, by which it will be called on United Nations to investigate rape of women during the war in Kosovo. In the meeting of Supporting Forum for organization of the petition “We demand international justice for women raped during the recent war in Kosovo,” Deputy Prime Minister Edita Tahiri presented the demands of this petition to the United Nations Organization.

“The first request of the petition is that we want international justice for women raped during the war in Kosovo. The second calls on the UN Secretary General to start investigations about rape of women during the war in Kosovo and issue a report on this issue as soon as possible. The third, we call that all persons responsible, perpetrators and authors for the policies and actions of this genocidal crime against humanity to be brought to international law and be punished. The fourth and the final, we demand development of international justice mechanisms in the most credible and effective manner to ensure an impartial justice for Kosovo women raped during the war,” Tahiri stated.

Tahiri: Brussels guaranteed removal of barricade

Acting Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo Edita Tahiri said that Brussels has assured her that the barricades in the north will be removed.

Tahiri said that Serbian government official Marko Djuric is violating Brussels Agreement and the European principles on good neighbourhood.

She said that Kosovo government will approach Serbia through Washington and Brussels.

In the meantime, Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said that Belgrade is committed to normalization of relations with Prishtinë/Pristina. He said that there are delays in implementation of the Agreement, but this takes time and must be done step by step.

Excavations in Rudnica will continue next week

Serbia continues the game with corpses of Albanians that it has killed. During a press conference in Belgrade held on Monday it was said that excavations in two areas of Rudnicë old quarry will continue next week.

President of the Serbian government committee for missing persons Veljko Odalovic and deputy war crimes prosecutor Bruno Vekaric said that lack of funds is the main reason for delays in exhumation process.

On the other hand, Head of Kosovo governmental committee for the missing Prenk Gjetaj considers that Serbia is only trying to acquire funds, KTV reported. He also said that Serbia only wants to buy time with this.
