The Steering Board for organizing the petition for the sexually abused women during the last conflict in Kosovo, chaired by the outgoing Deputy Prime Minister Edita Tahiri, has decided on Tuesday to launch the petition which seeks international justice. Signing of the petition will start on 14 July and it would last five days. “The Steering Board calls on all citizens of our country to give their contribution and sign the petition as massively as possible, as a form of strong expression of support for our women, victims of sexual abuse during the war in Kosovo, sending in this manner a strong message to the entire world that we request international justice,” was written in a press release of the Steering Board.

The Board decided for Eliza Hoxha to become member of this Board, based on her artistic contribution to this sensitive and tragic issue, through the project for the sexually abused women during the conflict, “The silence of the song.”

The Board expressed appreciation to the national broadcasters which aired their video-message. During the week, the board will hold intensive meetings with all municipal structures, which are part of this initiative, to coordinate actions for a successful flow of this process.
