The whole Municipal Board of Independent Liberal Party (SLS) from Istok/Istog submitted resignation from all positions and membership in the party. This is the second municipal board that collectively left the party of outgoing Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Slobodan Petrovic, after Strpce/Shterpce Board did the same, one day ago.
Vesna Maliković, member of the SLS Main Board, president of Istok/Istog municipal board Dragan Repanović, Deputy President and 12 members of municipal board, as well as all members of the party, which is 241 persons, had left the party.
“We would like to inform the public that we became the members of SLS after engagement of Minister Jevtic and as a response to everything that Mr. Jevtic has done for returnees and all Serbs who live in Istok/Istog municipality. The policy led by Minister Jevtić helped Serbian community in Istok/Istog to be more stable than it was a year ago. During the last parliamentary elections Serbs from Istok/Istog municipality clearly gave support to candidates Sasa Milosavljevic, Jasmina Zivkovic and Jelena Bontic and thus said to whom they believe. That is why we will continue to be part of the political organization in which Bratislav Nikolic and Dalibor Jevtic will be,” reads a statement of former SLS municipal board in Istok/Istog.
