Djuric: Serbia wants to open Chapter 35 as soon as possible

(Most monitored broadcasters, KTV)

Director of the Serbian Government Office for Kosovo Marko Djuric said that Serbia wants to open Chapter 35 of its EU accession talks, which relates to dialogue with Kosovo, as soon as possible and without additional criteria.

“Serbia wants to avoid the moving target approach, whereby the bar for opening and subsequently closing the chapter would be raised higher and higher. For that reason, Serbia and the European Commission are jointly trying to define a way to conduct discussions on Chapter 35 so that Serbia does not depend on the political circumstances among Kosovo’s ethnic Albanians or the situation in the interim self-government institutions in Prishtinë/Pristina,” Djuric said in an interview with Jedinstvo.

“If, at some point, Prishtinë/Pristina is not willing to discuss something, reach an agreement, or is setting unrealistic conditions, it should not be at the expense of Serbia’s European integrations,” he added.

Djuric told Jedinstvo that ‘Peace Park’ in Mitrovica/Mitrovicë north will stay and that the agreement for this matter has been reached in Brussels.

Klokot/Kllokot municipality respects Kosovo symbols

(TV21)

Serb majority municipality of Klokot/Kllokot might be a good example of respect for symbols of the Republic of Kosovo. Different from Kosovo northern municipalities that seek justifications to avoid them, this municipality got well-adapted in working with Kosovo state logos.

All citizens’ documents and decisions taken by the municipality contain logo of the Republic of Kosovo. Local Albanian leaders say that Serb citizens have accepted the new Kosovo reality and they do not hesitate to work according to Kosovo laws.

“All the laws of the Republic of Kosovo are respected in the municipality,” said Albanian deputy mayor of this municipality, Hasan Rashiti.
