Budimir Ničić is selected for the post of the President of the Association of Journalists of Kosovo and Metohija (DNKiM)on the convention of the DNKiM, which is the Kosovo branch of Journalists’ Association of Serbia.
Ničić said that he will work hard and conscientiously, along with all members of the managing board, in order to set an institution on the merits of the association.
“Our first step is to develop a plan and program based on three main points. We have to make a serious association which will be based on professional interests. We need efficient and responsible management in our organization and we have to make an institution out of our organization”, said Ničić.
The Secretary of the Journalists’ Association of Serbia Nino Brajović assessed the work of Serbian media in Kosovo as positive and stressed that the freedom of reporting is jeopardized.
“Considerable number of Kosovo media is under the influence of the centers of the financial and political power. What seems to appear as a paradox here is that exactly Serbian media in enclaves, in small communities, are doing their job quite free. I would underline that as a good example of the freedom of media,” said Brajović.
