The former chief prosecutor of the Hague Tribunal, Carla del Ponte, expressed regret that the team of chief prosecutor for investigating trafficking in organs in Kosovo in 1999, Clint Williamson, did not find enough evidence to indict persons responsible for these crimes.

“You know, that’s a shame, but I’m not surprised because it is much more difficult to carry out an adequate investigation after so many years of what happened,” saidDel Ponte in a telephone statement to Tanjug, explaining that the investigators of the Hague Tribunal also were unable to find evidence “because no one wanted to help.”

She expressed the hope that in the future, however, will be found sufficient evidence for indictments in the case of trafficking in organs. Del Ponte pointed out that the prosecutor Williamson stated at a press conference in Brussels that he personally believes that trafficking in organs happened.

Carla Del Ponte presented evidence on trafficking in organs in Kosovo in her book “The Hunt”, in 2008. Serbian War Crimes Prosecutor, after publication of her book, opened a case of “Yellow house”.

„The fact that so far there is no evidence of organ harvesting, does not mean there wont be in the future,” said Williamson today, adding that the investigation will be continued.
