Mayor of Gračanica/Graçanicë Branimir Stojanovic said yesterday that ‘Srpska’ is fighting for the rights of Serbian community in Kosovo.

In a panel discussion dubbed “Waiting for the Kosovo government”, which took place in Čaglavica/Çaglavicë, Stojanovic said that Srpska won’t determine the Kosovo government and repeated that Srpska had extended its support to the appointment of Isa Mustafa at the post of Assembly Speaker because they said earlier that they will support the one that has the majority for forming the government.

The Serbian List won’t be the factor of destabilization said Stojanovic and stressed that while taking part in the government they will foremost have in mind interests of Serbian community and preservation of relations with Belgrade.

Reflecting on the recent arrests of Islamic extremists he assessed that such developments are creating a sort of insecurity in Kosovo what also reflects on other components of the life in Kosovo.

“The creation of the war crimes court is very important and that process won’t be easy at all. Unless it is not carried out in adequate fashion and if perpetrators are not punished, we won’t reach the final goal and that one is building the European society where we all have the equal rights,” said Stojanovic.

Addressing the political situation in Kosovo, outgoing Minister of Labor Nenad Rasic who also took part in the panel discussion, said that it is not good that Serbs become a decisive factor in creating the majority in the parliament and Kosovo government. He pointed out that Serbs are ‘between two fires’ and that it would be more convenient if Albanians would have 60 and more MPs in order that Serbs and other non-Albanian communities are not a decisive factor, otherwise they would be under permanent pressure.

The third panelist, political analysts from Pristina, Behlul Becaj said that there is no trust amongst anyone in Kosovo, Albanians don’t trust Serbs and vice versa. He added that international community too, doesn’t trust anyone, albeit they are not saying it publicly, what poses insecurity in terms of the European future aspired by both, Albanians and Serbs.

“He said that the individual quality of persons should come forward in Kosovo, instead of counting the number of MPs in the parliament.

“They should be professionals in finding solutions, since there are many issues which have to be resolved. Kosovo needs professionals. I would personally accept a Kosovo Serb as the Kosovo president, but a Serbs who would really lead a just policy,” said Becaj.

It was stressed during the debate that all who have committed crimes in Kosovo have to be adequately punished, no matter on are they Serbs of Albanians.
