Thaci: Constitutional Court decision opens way to the “New Mission (dailies)
Hashim Thaci, leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), stated that his party welcomed the decision of the Constitutional Court. He stated that the decision opens way to establishment of the new institutions in accordance with the will of the citizens. “Kosovo state is enforcing each day its practices of respecting the Constitution and law. Today, the Constitutional Court announced its position on the flow of the the constitutive session of the Assembly of Kosovo held on 17 July, which opened way to the establishment of the new institutions,” said Thaci. He called on all parties to accept this decision and to establish the new institutions as soon as possible.

The coalition block of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), and the Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA) issued yesterday a press release regarding the decision of the Constitutional Court to bring down Sis Mustafa from the post of the Assembly Speaker. “LDK-AAK-NISMA coalition has taken into consideration the press release of the Constitutional Court and it is waiting for the publication of the final text. The Block is convinced that the right of the coalition candidate is recognized and it opened the only way for the formation of the new institutions,” stresses the press release.
Isa Mustafa leader of the LDK, stated that the decision of the Constitutional Court does not make them winners or looser and added that the coalition will with its project for the changes on the manner of governing.
Cliff: Serbian List in the government, but not as determinant factor (Koha Ditore)
Ian Cliff, Ambassador of the United Kingdom in Kosovo, stated in an interview for this daily that it would have been good for the Serbian List to be part of the future government of Kosovo, but not to be a determinant factor on its creation. “I think that Serbian List should wait an see how the negotiations among the Albanian majority political parties for the establishment of the government of Kosovo flow, and then join them. I do not think that it is a good thing for Serbian List to be the determinant party for the future government,” said Cliff.
Serbia rushes to hand over 16 Albanian mortal remains (Koha Ditore)
EULEX personnel working for the Kosovo Department of Forensic Medicine received on Wednesday from Serbian Authorities 16 mortal remains exhumed during the recent excavations in Raska. Pajazit Nushi, Director of the Council for the Defense of Human Rights and Freedoms, stated that handing over the mortal remains was commenced under different procedures. “Because we are used to accept mortal remains through the family members, who are carriers of this activity. This handing over should be done more as a gesture of respect for these victims, therefore we will proceed with the entire procedure based on a special programme, which will be also submitted to EULEX,” said Nushi.
The UN Security Council session for Kosovo, on 29 August (Epoka e Re)
The regular session of the United Nations Security Council on Kosovo which will discuss the report of the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, will be held on 29 August. The news was announced in the schedule of UN SC sessions, in the UN website. The session was initially scheduled for 25 August. In his report for the period 16 April – 15 July, the UN Secretary General stresses the strong determination of Pristina and Belgrade to make progress on European integrations. He has called on both parties to continue with with their meetings as soon as possible. Except for the report of the UN Secretary General, the report of the chief of European diplomacy, Catherine Ashton, on the EULEX activity in Kosovo was published as well.
