The Berlin Wall (Vesti)

Ivica Dacic denies in vain Hashim Thaci’s statements, claiming that it is not true that Belgrade will sign international peace agreement with Kosovo, that is to formally stamp the independence of the abducted province.

Serbian FM can praise himself as much as he wants that he lectured his counterpart from Pristina Enver Hoxhaj in front of the United Nations Security Council members, but he will hardly stop (and hush up) an diplomatic offensive of the West leading to final recognition of illegally created state of Albanians on the territory of Serbia and putting an end to Brussels monologue, which is only in Belgrade interpreted as the dialogue with Pristina.

Prime Minister of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic can continue to convince public that “Serbia will manage to protect its people and its territory”, as he recently stated while visiting Merdare following assassination of Serbian gendarme Stevan Sindjelic. However, Merdare – the Berlin Wall, as noted by the historian and former diplomat Dusan Batakovic, which has divided Serbs on those in Serbia proper and those in abducted Kosovo, does not believe in fairytale any more, particularly not in Vucic’s one.

Prime Minister can endlessly repeat that state of Serbia, as he put it, will be able in complex international circumstances to take all measures and guarantee the full security to citizens, but we all know that those guarantees are in vain and that Vucic himself doubts in it.

Both, Dacic and Vucic, can endlessly take pictures with the kidnappers of Kosovo and their international sponsors with smiles on their faces, in order that a group portrays would look more convincingly. However, facts are more convincing, and they are causing tears instead of smiles. Because Serbs from the north are fleeing Kosovo too, those who were most determined to resist to expulsion. But they are broken, either by arrests, or arrests warrants, betrayed expectations and failed Belgrade’s promises.

One of those promises was and so called union of Serbian municipalities, in whose speedy founding Dacic and Vucic have kept convincing them after they accepted disbanding of Serbian institutions in northern Kosovo.

No matter on how much efforts are invested by Dacic and Vucic, they won’t be able to convince us that by signing Brussels papers they did not violate Serbian Constitution. Not even those who voted for them believe in such a thing.

Former leadership headed by Tadic, no matter what we thought about them, have ignored, a while back, rude and loud German Chancellor’s request that Belgrade hands over northern Serbs to Albanians. Incumbent authorities did it without blinking, and bestowed on Pristina the remaining sovereignty in Kosovo, by which that American project, realized through Berlins’ assistance, has been brought to an end.

The rest of Serbia is still crawling in the fog. No one answers the question on whereabouts of numerous programs announced by Vucic’s guys and girls, who raised hands for new laws allegedly meant to improve the ‘business environment’ and bring famous world investors to Serbia. To Serbia, where public debt has surpassed 70 per cent of the gross domestic product, and to the state where prime minister keeps changing ministers of economy, whereas economy stagnates. To the state where prime minister still didn’t start reforms, but keeps taking loans and justifies his inefficiency by floods.

And what about the President Tomislav Nikolic? He has become Vojislav Kostunica – he is not interfering in anything, acts as being uninformed, convinced that he will win the next presidential election because no one can bit him!
