The news that Basic Court in Uroševac/Ferizaj has dropped all charges against the Serbian police officer Laza Lazic from Štrpce/Shtërpcë has become the prime news in all Serbian media. Information was confirmed by his attorney Dejan A. Vasic, however yesterday Lazic informed Vesti that case against him is still ongoing.

Department of Serious Crimes of the Basic Prosecutor’s Office in Uroševac/Ferizaj has raised charges against Lazic, amongst the other things and for grouping aimed at anti-constitutional activities and false impersonation. He was arrested in December and has spent four months in detention in Gnjilane/Gjilan.

“I was arrested in December 2013, out of the blue, since I didn’t do anything to anyone. My detention has ended due to a lack of reasonable grounds for suspicion, ant not due to Serbia’s guarantees. Those are two different things. Process against me has not being dropped, because Prosecutor’s Office is the one that should drop the case. It is up to the prosecutor, not up to  judge to bring such decision, which should be brought in the form of written decision. Such decision is still pending,” said Lazic.

However, all items that were confiscated by the Kosovo police were returned to Lazic, who explained that those items, such as personal computer, belonged to his family members.
