VLAN leaders meet minority community MPs

(RTK1)

Leaders of LAN bloc and Vetëvendosje Movement met again with non-Serb minority MPs. They reconfirmed once again that they hold these meetings to change country’s government.

“We reconfirmed our commitment to continue with the joint project of our coalition,” LDK leader Isa Mustafa said after this meeting.

AAK leader Ramush Haradinaj said that chairperson of the Kosovo Assembly’s constitutive session Flora Brovina still has not informed them officially about continuation of the session announced for 02 October.

On Thursday, bloc leaders met with MPs of 6+ Assembly caucus, as well as MPs of two other minority communities.

On the other hand, Srpska List expressed its readiness to vote for anyone in order to overcome the current political deadlock. Head of this List, Aleksandar Jablanovic, said that they will respect Constitutional Court’s verdict; however, according to him, this does not mean that they have orientated themselves toward one political entity, or the other.

Srpska List continues to communicate with LAN bloc, but Vetëvendosje continues to remain an obstacle in this regard. Jablanovic said that Vetëvedosje should change its approach, if it wants to have the support of this political entity.

Thaçi: New institutions based on Constitution and laws

(Most monitored broadcasters, KTV)

Acting Prime Minister Hashim Thaçi said that establishment of new institutions must be done based on Kosovo Constitution and laws.

He reiterated that fair and free elections were organized, and that the best possible response will be given to Kosovo people for establishment of efficient institutions.

Ymeri: We will not start talks with Serbia, if it does not recognize Kosovo

(KTV)

Vetëvendosje Movement says that it will not start talks with Serbia, if it does not recognize as a state. In an interview with KTV Rubicon show, chairperson of former Vetëvendosje caucus Visar Ymeri said that Vetëvendosje will not violate the agreement signed with LAN, but there cannot be any talks without reciprocal recognition of the two states.

Ymeri called on PDK to become aware and understand that irrespective of the fact that it won most votes, it still is a parliamentary minority and to allow debate at the Assembly.

According to him, the political deadlock will be solved by debating and empowering point 127 of the Constitutional Court’s verdict.

He considers that neither President nor anyone else has the right to send the country to new elections, as this can only be done if MPs cast two-thirds of their vote.

Borchardt: Special Tribunal’s set up might delay

(TV21)

Head of EULEX Mission Bernd Borchardt warned about one of the consequences that the current political deadlock in the country might produce. Borchardt said that on Thursday that this political deadlock might delay set up of the Special Tribunal for War Crimes.

As far as extension of the rule of law in the north is concerned, Borchardt said that this depends on completion of the Kosovo-Serbia agreement. He did not consider Wednesday’s action of EULEX to arrest Radomir Kasalovic, suspected of murdering Kosovo Police officer Enver Zymberi, a failure.

The roundtable titled “Combating organized crime and corruption” incited debate between the Head of Kosovo Anticorruption Agency and Acting Chief State Prosecutor.

“Kosovo is small and we all know that there is no senior official in prison for corruption, or there is one, and the Head of Anticorruption Task Force. There is another case for which the verdict is omnipotent, but that official cannot be located to be sent to prison,” Head of Kosovo Anticorruption Agency Hasan Preteni said.

On the other hand, Acting State Chief Prosecutor Sylë Hoxha guaranteed that Kosovo prosecutors will lead the fight against crime.
