VLAN determined to form new institutions

(All monitored broadcasters, KTV)

From the Assembly of Kosovo room, LDK, AAK, Nisma, and Vetevëndosje (VLAN) MPs sent a message to PDK and other independent institutions that they will not give up establishment of new institutions.

They warned that if the Assembly chairperson, Flora Brovina, will not call the continuation of constitutive session by the middle of next week, than they do this with signatures that they have already collected for this purpose.

The Bloc considers postponement of Assembly’s session by Brovina as a serious abuse with the Constitutional Court’s verdict, adding that MPs were not officially informed that there will be no session on Thursday.

Using the Assembly of Kosovo room, VLAN bloc leaders expressed their determination to establish institutions, while they accused PDK for the deadlock.

VLAN parties said that they do not want any compromise or talks with PDK, which, according to them, should be completely removed from power.

PDK: VLAN undertook wrong actions

PDK reacted against actions of the post-electoral bloc (VLAN), considering that its MPs undertook wrong actions when they entered the Kosovo Assembly courtroom without authorization.

After its Presidency meeting held on Thursday, PDK said that by doing this VLAN is seriously ignoring the way out of the current political deadlock.

Addressing the media after the meeting, Memli Krasniqi, a PDK Presidency member, said that all MPs of the Bloc demonstrated institutional immaturity with their action.

On the other hand, Assembly chairperson Flora Brovina did not want to comment anything.

Jahjaga met political leaders again

President Atifete Jahjaga received Kosovo political leaders in separate meetings. LDK chair Isa Mustafa was the first that Jahjaga met. After him, Jahjaga met with AAK chair Ramush Haradinaj, who said that they will stick to their initial position, implying that they have not change their stance.

After meeting President Jahjaga, PDK chair Hashim Thaçi said that MPs exceeded their authorizations on Thursday with their presence at the Assembly of Kosovo. Expressing PDK’s willingness to cooperate, Thaçi emphasized that the solution remains in the respect of people’s will and the Constitutional Court’s verdict.

Addressing the media after meeting with Jahjaga, Vetëvendosje chair Albin Kurti said that Kosovo Constitutional Court’s President Enver Hasani is way too cynical to be a judge, and that there are tendencies to turn PDK into a constitutional category.

Meanwhile, Fatmir Limaj of Nisma për Kosovën said that they are pledged to find a solution for the deadlock.

After these meetings, Office of the President issued a statement reading that political leaders must offer their suggestions and recommendations for the finding of a solution, in conformity with the constitutional framework, and in case of approximation of their positions, President Jahjaga would help facilitate another joint meeting between them.

Only few minutes after she met Kosovo political party leaders, President Jahjaga also hosted the European Union Special Representative (EUSR) in Kosovo Samuel Zbogar.

Meeting with EUSR Zbogar happened at a time when the political deadlock in Kosovo is going on for months. Although international officials said that they will not interfere in establishment of Kosovo institutions, such visits prove the opposite.
