The Democratic Party of Kosovo is finally convinced that it does not have the numbers to elect the Assembly Speaker and establish the government.

“PDK has understood the determination of the Albanian parties not to co-govern with them, therefore their only option remains to delay the constitutive session as long as possible, leading in this manner the country towards new elections,” said a close source to the recent political developments.

PDK will delay the situation until the coalition block brakes or until the new elections

According to this source, PDK will use maximally the advantage given by the Constitutional Court in order to induce the international interference.

“If the Block does not break by international interference, then PDK will do the utmost to prevent establishment of the institutions by coalition block and to lead the country towards new elections,” said this source.

According to Adem Grabovci, deputy of the PDK, there are only two options to overcome the current situation. “The first option is agreement with PDK and establishment of institutions. If this option is not considered then other, less wanted option, that of extraordinary elections would come,” said Grabovci.

Memli Krasniqi, deputy from the PDK, also gave these two options in his interview given to media yesterday.

A senior PDK official said to Gazeta Blic that PDK is getting prepared for the new elections. “Negotiations for a pre-election coalition with Behxhet Pacolli’s Alliance for the New Kosovo (AKR), have already started. We believe that we will win the elections again,” said this source.

The outgoing Minister of Finance on the other hand has warned that if the political crisis goes on, civil servants will not receive their salaries from March. He also warned on the collapse of the state.
