The Chairperson of the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) Sanda Raskovic Ivic stated that last incidents in Kosovo and Metohija come as a consequence of a backing down of Serbia as a state in front of the West, that is the European Union.

Raskovic Ivic told at the press conference in Kosovska Mitrovia that state has to change its policy and show that Kosovo and Metohija is part of Serbia. She called on Serbian Assembly Speaker Maja Gojkovic to call elections in four northern municipalities where provisional measures have been introduced earlier. “Validity of provisional measures has ended and elections should be called in line with the laws and Constitution of the Republic of Serbia,” Raskovic Ivic said.

She also assessed that the Brussels Agreement is an obstacle for many things, such as reconstruction of churches and monasteries because, as she explained, Ministry of Culture of Kosovo is now in charge for everything. Raskovic Ivic went on and said that Kosovo Albanians have no intention of amending their Constitution for the sake of implementation of the Brussels Agreement in order that community of Serb municipalities could be formed and which is seen by Albanians as an NGO. “It is now up to Republic of Serbia, and our authorities, to show to which extent it is a state, and that we are really a sovereign state,” concluded Raskovic Ivic.
