Kosovo Police turned back over three hundred illegal migrants

Kosovo Police turned back over 300 Kosovo citizens, who wanted to illegally migrate to Western countries through Serbia. Majority of these migrants come from the municipality of Ferizaj/Urosevac. KTV learned that over three hundred Kosovars have been stopped at Merdare border crossings.
Meanwhile, during the last 48 hours, hundreds of Ferizaj/Urosevac residents have left Kosovo, taking the route from Serbian to Hungary, and then to other Western countries.

Those who are fleeing say that the government should be blamed for this, as there are no jobs or perspective in Kosovo.

Vetëvendosje reacted through a press release about this wave of illegal migration, saying that the current government coalition PDK-LDK has reassured Kosovo citizens that bad governance that happened so far will be rehabilitated and it will continue further.

Rugova: Mustafa to be nominated for PM or agreement to be annulled

(All monitored broadcasters, KTV)

LDK deputy chairperson Haki Rugova said that LDK will only accept Isa Mustafa as a Prime Minister. Rugova emphasized if this does not happen, than the coalition agreement with PDK will be invalid.

“LDK General Council has decided that we will lead the government,” Rugova said.

However, as far as allocations of ministries are concerned, Rugova said that LDK has its own experts who are negotiating with PDK and that the ministries will be equally shared.

Continuation of the constitutive Assembly session is expected to convene next week. Chairperson of the constitutive Assembly session Flora Brovina said that they are waiting for the finalisation of the discussion between PDK-LDK working groups.

Civil society against the selection of its representative at the Prosecutorial Council

(KTV)

Civil society organizations expressed dissatisfaction over selection of Florent Muçaj as civil society member at the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council.
CiviKos Board, a network of civil society organizations, does not agree with the manner how Muçaj was elected for this post. Over 140 organizations, members of CiviKos, consider that Muçaj does not represent them and that the only support he enjoys is from his own organization and one student organization.
CiviKos asked KPC about the procedure how Muçaj was selected. It also called it to explain how the other candidates were evaluated, for which CivKos believes that they had much more experience and support from the organizations.

Petrit Zogaj, CiviKos Board Member, said that some candidates for this post had way more support from the organizations than Muçaj. Zogaj emphasized that CiviKos has an issue with the selection process in general, and with the selected individual in particular.

The Law on Prosecutorial Council does not define the procedures how the civil society member should be elected, nor does any other regulation.
