Thaci and Vucic to meet on 4 December (Zeri)

Citing an unidentified source, the paper reports that Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci will meet his Serbian counterpart, Aleksandar Vucic, in New York on 4 December, during discussions at the United Nations Security Council.

Germany insists on Kosovo as condition for Serbia’s EU membership (Zeri)

Michael Davenport, head of the European Union’s delegation to Serbia, reiterated on Monday the position of Germany that Serbia must address Chapter 35 of its Constitution, which relates to the normalization of relations between Pristina and Belgrade, as a condition to Serbia’s European Union membership. Davenport said progress has been made in relations between Belgrade and Pristina but that it is too early to talk about the full implementation of the 19 April agreement.

Haradinaj: Thaci offered me the post of Prime Minister (Koha)

Ramush Haradinaj, leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), told the Tirana-based Agon Channel that Hashim Thaci offered him the post of Prime Minister immediately after national elections but that he rejected it. Haradinaj also said that Isa Mustafa, leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), did not want to have the Vetevendosje Movement in the new government.

LDK gives up on its principles (Koha)

The paper reports on the front page that the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) has withdrawn from its principle that dialogue with Belgrade should be based on reciprocity and mutual respect for territorial integrity and sovereignty. The LDK had agreed to that principle in June with its former coalition partners. After reaching an agreement with the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), the LDK no longer mentions reciprocity in its program. The paper also claims to possess a draft of the future government’s program on dialogue with Belgrade. The draft notes that the two coalition parties support the continuation of dialogue and the implementation of all agreements reached with Belgrade.

Serbian List an obstacle to formation of Kosovo Armed Forces (Zeri)

The transformation of the Kosovo Security Force to the Armed Forces of Kosovo is one of the first issues that will be addressed by the new Assembly of Kosovo. Representatives of the Serb community are expected to reject the formation of the Armed Forces.

Ristic interviewed over killing of Kosovo Police officer (Kosova Sot)

The former parallel mayor of Zubin Potok, Slavisa Ristic, has been interviewed by a prosecutor from the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX), in connection to the killing of Kosovo Police officer Enver Zymberi in 2011. Zymberi was shot during an ambush within the territory of Zubin Potok.

Serbian Police chief hits Kosovo Police officer with car (Koha)

Ninoslav Mijanovic, head of Serbian Police for Zvecan, Zubin Potok, Mitrovica and Leposavic, hit with his car a Kosovo Police officer who was conducting a routine traffic check in the village of Grabovc, near Zvecan. Kosovo Police officials confirmed the incident but said they did not know who was driving the vehicle. The police officer sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital in North Mitrovica. Police later arrested Mijanovic, and the prosecutor was notified about the incident.
