Mustafa: We’re obliged to vote for Thaci as President in 2016 (Koha Ditore)

In a front-page interview for the paper, Isa Mustafa, the Prime Minister of Kosovo, said he believes that the majority of Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) MPs will respect the agreement with the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) and vote in favor of Hashim Thaci’s nomination as President of Kosovo in 2016. Asked if the eight LDK MPs who rejected the coalition with the PDK would represent a problem for the required quorum, Mustafa said the reasons for their objections were of a different nature. “The PDK voted for me. Therefore, it is our responsibility to act the same way on our obligations, when Thaci is nominated [for President],” Mustafa said. Asked about claims that Thaci is the real Prime Minister of Kosovo, Mustafa said he would prove the opposite and said that there was no duality in the new government.

Mustafa: New jobs will stop emigration (Koha Ditore)

Isa Mustafa, the Prime Minister of Kosovo, appealed on Tuesday during the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), to the people of Kosovo to join the LDK in the battle for Kosovo’s progress and development. “Because, we do not have another home other than Kosovo and we have to build our future here. The political platform of the Democratic League of Kosovo and the governing programme agreed by the coalition partner guarantees a prosperous future. We will work on the integration of minority communities,” Mustafa said. He also promised economic progress that will stop people from emigrating.

Thaci meets EU ambassadors (Tribuna)

Hashim Thaci, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met on Tuesday with European Union ambassadors to Kosovo. Thaci presented the top priorities of Kosovo’s diplomacy in the coming year, chief among which he said are the establishment of the Kosovo Armed Forces, signing of the Stabilization/Association Agreement, dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade and Kosovo’s membership in the Council of Europe.

Haradinaj: Special court is a present from Thaci (Kosova Sot)

Ramush Haradinaj, the leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), told the paper on Tuesday that the establishment of the special court would be bad news for Kosovo and harm the country’s image. Haradinaj also argued that the formation of the special court is a result of Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) leader Hashim Thaci’s bad governance. “This is also a result of the weak judicial system … The AAK will not vote in favor of the establishment of this court,” Haradinaj said.
