Association with executive competencies (Zeri)
Dragan Jablanovic, mayor of Leposavic municipality, and member of the team for establishment of the association of municipalities with Serb majority in Kosovo, stated for the Serb media in the north, that the association which will establish within the next five months, will have executive competencies. He admitted however that the association will not have elements of statehood. “This will be a guarantee that Serbs will stay in Kosovo and it will connect Serbs in the north and south in one institution which will deal with very important issues,” Jablanovic said.
Mustafa: Thaci government responsible for lack of salary increase (Koha Ditore)
This daily has published today the second part of the interview with Isa Mustafa, the Prime Minister of Kosovo, where he said that he would not carry as a burden promises made by former PM Hashim Thaci. “This budget was drafted by Thaci government, and it does not contain increase of salaries,” said Mustafa. He also spoke about the possibility of shutting down the Kosovo Privatization Agency within two years, when the process of privatization of publicly owned enterprises is expected to conclude. He said that the Government will come up with the law for the Special Court in January, however he did not specify who will be drafting the law.
Lushtaku- Bllaca meeting a serious incident (Koha Ditore)
This daily reports on its front page that the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo, EULEX, has returned to Dubrava prison. The paper claims that according to three different reliable sources, the decision was made due to a meeting which happened at Dubrava prison between Nazim Bllaca and Sami Lushtaku. Bllaca is a witness against Azem Syla, who used to be Lushtaku’s supervisor and political party colleague. EULEX considered this meeting to be dangerous, being that the witness protection regulation stresses that witnesses are not allowed to meet prisoners.
Jahjaga with a peaceful message for Christmas (Zeri)
President of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga, has conveyed her Christmas wishes to the Monsignor Dodë Gjergji, Bishop of Kosovo Diocese as well as to the whole Christian community.
Jahjaga said that this day symbolizes highest values of solidarity, harmony, of love and peace among people. “This Christmas finds our country, with a large number of achievements on various fields, with a dedication for increase of wellbeing of our citizens regardless of their ethnicity and faith, economic development of the country and clear Euro-Atlantic integration aspirations,” said Jahjaga.
