(All monitored broadcasters, KTV& RTK1)

On the occasion of the Orthodox Christmas, Kosovo President Atifete Jahjaga and Prime Minister Isa Mustafa visited Visoki Decani Monastery. On behalf of Kosovo citizens, both leaders congratulated Orthodox believers.

President Jahjaga said that Orthodox Christmas is a special day because it conveys the message of peace, harmony and solidarity. Meanwhile, PM Mustafa said that all citizens should feel equal and be together to face problems.

Following the visit to Visoki Decani Monastery, Jahjaga and Mustafa had a meeting with Archdeacon Father Sava Janjic.

On the other hand KTV reported that League of Kosovo Historians ‘Ali Hadri’, branch in Deçan/Decane, reacted against this visit. They reminded President Jahjaga that hundreds of Serb paramilitaries were welcomed with ceremony in this Monastery during the conflict.

Stojanovic condemns Gjakovë/Djakovica incident

(Most monitored broadcasters, TV21)

Serb Deputy Prime of Kosovo Branimir Stojanovic complained about the treatment of Serbs in Kosovo. Commenting Tuesday’s incident in Gjakovë/Djakovica municipality, Stojanovic said that Serbs are being discriminated even during celebrations. Stojanovic noted that this is not the first time that Serbs are not allowed to visit their churches, cemeteries and other sacred locations, but he expressed his hope that this is the last incident.

Following the Orthodox Christmas ritual held in Graçanicë/Gracanica Monastery, Bishop Teodosije said that life in Kosovo is difficult, but he emphasized that conditions have improved for the Serb IDPs to return.

Serbia continues to challenge Kosovo

(KTV)

Minister for return and communities Aleksander Jablanovic offended Tuesday’s protesters in Gjakovë/Djakovica municipality.

After the protest of the families of the missing persons, Jablanovic in the evening hours of Saturday, made a scandalous statements by calling the protesters as ‘savage’. “This is a holy feast. Savages that stopped Serbs from visiting their burnt houses do not serve to anyone. We will demand an explanation from the Minister of Interior for what has happened,” Jablanovic said.

Moreover, Mustafa’s minister, Aleksandar Jablanovic, whenever addressing to the media refers to Kosovo as Kosovo and Metohija. This statement should be considered as a violation of the constitutional law, and in this case government intervention is required.

Vetëvendosje, which has opposed the entry of Srpska List in the Assembly and has also supported the protests in Gjakovë/Djakovica, considers Jablanovic’s actions as a clear evidence of how Kosovo government shares power with Serbia.

Whereas according to the political analyst Imer Mushkolaj, the non-intervention of Kosovo PM Isa Mustafa in this case, is a clear proof why this Government should not be trusted.

Mobile mammography still not functional

(KTV)

Donations from the foreign embassies, businesses and different individuals for procurement of the mobile mammography have ended up only with procurement of a vehicle that is staying parked in a garage. This equipment is currently out of function, although it is ready and complete to work.

Health analysts consider that similar equipment were intentionally stopped from working even in other cases, when the equipment in public institutions remain not used, in order for someone to benefit from this.

“From the very beginning it was sort of a failure. It was never functional. Much noise was raised about it, particularly from the ones that gave money and bought it. I believe that it’s failure might be intentional, so patients are not offered free mammography, but to go again to private health institutions,” stated Arton Demhasi of ‘Çohu’ organization.

Leaders of radiology clinic say that they are ready to do their work, but women that were on the line, according to the annual plan, have delayed to come in.

“The mammography is functional and it is staying in the garage for security reasons and due to atmospheric conditions, but it is brought in to clinic by the driver for examinations. As a clinic, we have done our best for women that were put forward by ‘Jeta Vita” Association and other women to undergo examination. Women police officers are on the line. Even after the mammography was broken, we informed them that we have started work and we are ready to do the examinations, but they did not come in,” the radiologist Kreshnike Dedushi said.

On the other hand, police officials justify this delay with initial non-functioning of the mammography equipment and the end of the year holidays.

The ones that widely promoted the mobile mammography project did not demand accountability for this. Teuta Sahatqija, former head of the Women Caucus of the fourth legislation of Kosovo Assembly, did not respond to KTV phone calls over the last two days.

Serbia to control northern railroads

(KTV)

Serbia will use the incapability of Kosovo to control the northern railways by trying to establish an independent company separated from the Kosovo railways.

KTV sources have said that the Serbian side is trying to use the same approach as for the energy agreement to achieve this goal.

Serbian side is taking as an example the agreement on energy, which allowed the establishment of a company in the north to perform the work which normally is performed by KEDS in the rest of Kosovo.

Officials of the Ministry of Infrastructure have said that discussions about this matter are ongoing in Brussels, whereas with current laws, establishment of new operators is allowed, but the infrastructure should always be managed by the state.

Visar Azemi from KOSID called on government not to repeat the same mistake as with the agreement on energy.

Dubravë inmates request a meeting with minister Kuçi

(KTV)

Council of Dubravë inmates invited the minister of Justice Hajredin Kuçi and the commissioner for penitentiaries Emrush Thaçi to a meeting. The aim of the meeting is to brief Kuçi and Thaçi about the injustices that inmates are facing in the prison.

‘We think that we are eligible for a general amnesty for obvious and human reasons.   Regional penitentiaries should be taken as a role model about prisoner rights, which we are not entitled to’, reads a statement issued by the Council.

According to the Council, Kosovo President Atifete Jahjahaga is blocking the amnesty for the last three years.
