Ljubomir Maric, Kosovo’s minister of administration and local self-government from the Serb people, said on Monday that the formation of a community of Serb municipalities (ZSO) will be among the main topics of the next meeting held as part of the Brussels dialogue.
In a statement to Tanjug, Maric said that the ZSO formation is also the main point of the coalition agreement, which the Citizens’ Initiative Srpska signed with (ethnic) Albanian parties to form the government.
“The formation of the ZSO is the backbone of the entire Brussels agreement and the only guarantee for the Serb people to stay and progress in Kosovo-Metohija,” Maric said.
The only way to overcome the problems facing the Serb community is to establish the ZSO and set its executive powers, he underscored.
Maric noted that officials of Belgrade and Pristina will meet on February 9 to discuss outstanding issues in relation to the agreement on the normalization of relations which was signed in Brussels on April 19, 2013.
This includes the issues relating to the judiciary, energy sector, telecommunications, and the establishment of the ZSO, of course.
