Political analyst Dragomir Andjelkovic said today that by the visit of the Serbian Prime Minister, Aleksandar Vucic, to Kosovo and Metohija Serbia sent a message that it will not recognize Kosovo, even if the recognition would be a condition for joining the EU.
Andjekovic said that Vucic’s visit is important for both, Serbia and Serbs, who live in Kosovo and Metohija, and for the EU, because it took place prior to the start of the second round of negotiations, while continuation of the so-called Brussels process is expected to continue soon.
Belgrade sent a message that it doesn’t give up on Kosovo and Metohija and that it will act rationally, said Andjelkovic to TV Pink. He underlined Vucic’s sentence that policy will be led in the spirit of the prince Milos Obrenovic, and that it is about policy of avoiding confrontation with the big ones, and that prime minister sent a message to Serbs south of the Ibar/Ibër River that they won’t be abandoned either.
Albanians had issues due to the visit of the Serbian Prime Minister to Kosovo, because they have illusion that Kosovo is theirs, and they tend to forget that international factor is above all Kosovo institutions, said Andjelkovic. He added that Vucic’s visit to Kosovo and Metohija is a sort of a ‘slap’ from Brussels to Albanians and Pristina in order for them to understand that they can’t have everything they want.
Andjelkovic announced that solution with regard to the Association/Community of Serb municipalities in Kosovo should be found in next couple months, and that topics of telecommunication and electricity systems will be on the agenda during the upcoming talks between Belgrade and Pristina.
