Kosovo’s Interior Minister, Skender Hyseni, has justified Kosovo Police’s (KP) actions on the protest of 27 January, saying that the police does not accept ultimatums from any group of protesters. Hyseni told the Committee on Internal Affairs and Security that KP would not have retracted after the ultimatum, because according to him, in this case it would have been a “failure of the state.” “Protests with ultimatums do not exist in any democratic country in the world,” said Hyseni. He said that at no point he would use the police for political reasons.
