DS deputy in Serbian parliament, Borislav Stefanovic said today that it is good that an agreement was reached on the judiciary but is not good, unfortunately, that the public still does not know what specifically was agreed in Brussels.

Stefanovic said that the authorities should tell the Serbs from Kosovo who will work in the court and which laws will apply to the north of the province, stating that the laws of Kosovo would apply.

Stefanovic said that the authorities should tell the Kosovo Serbs who is going to work in the court and which laws would apply to the north of the province, stating that the laws of Kosovo will apply.

Stefanovic said that there are talks about the parity of judges and prosecutors, but it is not clear whether this applies to the court in south Mitrovica or that court essentially becomes responsible for the northern and southern Mitrovica.

– We heard that we will have now Court’s departments in Leposavic and Zubin Potok, and so far we had courts that were operating in these municipalities. Department of the court and the court is not the same – says Stefanovic, adding that it was unclear what about the Court of Appeal, which was mentioned after the agreement in Brussels.

Stefanovic said it was good that the Serbs in the north will have the opportunity to have the president of the court in Mitrovica, but it is unclear whether it is the court in two buildings, or these are two courts – one for north Mitrovica, other for southern Mitrovica.
