Zivojin Jokanovic, one of the defenders of Slobodan Gavric, says the mixture which was found at his client in the car could not independently be used as an explosive. “This is a blatant lie and nonsense,” said the lawyer.

Slobodan Gavric from Belgrade is suspected of planning a terrorist attack on the Catholic cathedral in Pristina, since in his car was found a mixture that is claimed to be explosive.

Jokanovic argues, however, that the mixture cannot independently explode when heated, as claimed by the Kosovo authorities, but at ignition it would only melt and leaked.

“The explosive was found. However, I am ready to ignite this mass in my house, the total weight of explosive of 12 kilograms and 800 grams. I’m ready to do it in fireplace at my home in Pristina. I’ll do it and I’ll sit next to the fireplace, it would be only liquid emulsion, mass which would leak. It could not be activated, not even in theory. To activate the mass, you need special means. They’re talking nonsense when they say it may be activated. Yes it can, but with clockwork, with remote, phone, with whatever but you need for that additional means that were not found, except for the bare mass of explosive for which you need about 2,000 degrees in order to be activated,” says Jokanovic.

Slobodan Gavric (46) was arrested in Pristina in late December on suspicion that with nearly 13 kilograms of explosives planned a terrorist attack on the Catholic cathedral. Recently, his detention was extended for another two months.

According to some media, Gavric’s arrest was set up of a drug dealer from Novi Pazar, which is why there is a suspicion that the whole case was a setup.
