Mayor of Pristina Shpend Ahmeti said there will be no discrimination, or privileges, in the process of legalization of buildings, including religious, such as the Temple of Christ the Savior, but also a number of mosques in the territory of the municipality.

When asked what kind of message Pristina would send to the displaced Serbs in case a temple of Christ the Saviour will be demolished, Mayor Shpend Ahmeti said that in this case he will only abide by the law. “We are not going to discriminate or favour the church, but we will work according to the law. I do not think that demolition is solution, but if building was illegally built than I can only abide by the law,” said Ahmeti in the TV show “Popodne na RTK2”.

He further stated that no one should prejudge the outcome of final solutions. “The temple of Christ the Saviour will be a question not only for the municipality of Pristina, but also for the government, the Orthodox Church, as well as Serbs and Albanians living in Pristina,” says Ahmeti.
